President Trump has nominated Andrew Rogers to serve as the next Administrator of the Labor Department’s Wage and Hour Division.

Rogers is currently the Acting General Counsel at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Previously, he served as chief counsel to EEOC Acting Chair Andrea Lucas and as a senior advisor at the Wage and Hour Division. Earlier in his career, Rogers worked for two management-side labor and employment law firms and clerked for Chief Judge Harvey Bartle III of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Rogers has both an undergraduate and a law degree from the University of Virginia.

The Wage and Hour Division enforces many laws, including the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and prevailing wage laws that apply to federal contractors. If Rogers is confirmed, it is likely that the WHD will again prioritize supervised settlements and regulatory reform proposals.

The Center for Workplace Compliance (CWC), our affiliated nonprofit membership association, has prepared a chart showing the status of select Trump Administration nominations and appointments. CWC members can read more here.
